As the owl screams

as the colors of dusk swirl

descendant

as creatures unseen cut through

silence in pursuit of

imagined foe

as what we are not part of

spreads out into empty streets

we close our windows to it

climb inside our comfort

I think suddenly of what it would be

to not have you beside me

to carry on without you

and I know

like the owl

I would never cease

searching the night

for your return

  1. This is so beautifully expressive and has a sense of yearning and loss within it as well. Very nice poem, Candice.

  2. Aw I love that! Thank you my dear friend for your support. I hope she likes it and feels lucky to have you who is such a dear partner in her life xo
