Bottles of pills fall from the sky
they look like Texas sized hail
each one comes with a promise and a warning
in some cases several
it’s a pretty thought to cancel the warnings and embrace the promise
I promise to ease your pain
I promise to lift your anxiety
everyone loves a restorative
even when the sky isn’t blue it holds faith
like a confident lover
the birds don’t know our fitful human world
they only understand song and flight
you’d like to be without gravity
it’s a small price to pay
looking at your life from up high
we treasure absurdities
then something happens to shift delusion
for what do you need of things?
when what you really need
is found in the wielding air

So my life. I wish you health and happiness. I’ll send a Huge Texas size HUG!
Maybe because the birds have no choice and no expectations. Let it all go.
Your searching words are so very poignant for me this week, as an anxiety attack consumes me
The picture is one of a carefree little girl–no worries in the world. Oh, how we so much want to be like that…

The above lines I thought were the meat of the poem, the strength of it. Great image. Great words to accompany it.
” everyone loves a restorative ” should be posted in every treatment center! It is sad that as a society we judge and at times discard the person because what they picked as a restorative is illegal, or out of what is considered to be the societal norm at the time. If your phrase were posted in every treatment center, imagine the individual and group therapy that could blossom from those four truthful words. Our prisons are over populated with people who have an addiction or those who were unfortunate in the time and place of deciding on their personal restorative. Powerful writing in those four words! Thank you!
Whilst reading this I had an image of giant pill bottles falling like hail !!
Need versus Want versus Hope, and the promises of things – How often are the promises kept? How often do the things become like old Marley’s ghostly chains, weighing down, preventing flight?
Wow I love this it is so touching deeply touching
I wonderfully poignant piece
And that, is how we get addicted to that nonexistent cure of psychological difficulties we trap ourselves in…
So many images! Some days we do envy the birds.
Such a deeply and emotional poetic, filled with imagery and its truth.
Wishing you good health and so much happiness.
Ditto Asimov 💓

ha ha ha! We hailed the other day and they are golf ball sized so it’s more than possible. I hope you are doing okay x
I’m so sorry as I know how that feels and it’s awful. It is my wish that you feel better. It will pass. You will recover. Keep saying that. Hold onto that. You are not weak you are strong. You will survive this and feel differently. Hold on.
EXACTLY!
Thank you for your kind words of encourage, and yes is been an awful week, but have awoken this morning feeling reasonable, with out my chest feeling like rapids running into a vortex.
🙂
Good. You can do it. Anxiety is a fiend but it CAN be beaten and tamed and I am sure you can do it, even if you have bad days, you WILL conquer the worst of it and it will not rule your life. You may be a sensitive poet but you are also a strong soul – never forget that. Never let it win. It may trick you into thinking it has more power than you do but it doesn’t.
Thank you so much, my morning is progressing ok, and I’ll write and write today, definitely helps with the purging. Your words are very much appreciated. xx

I wonder if the things that heal me fell from the sky if I’d be happy or ashamed? This poem gives me a lot to think about. Another good read, thank you.
Never be ashamed my friend
